What I do
My job is to work with you to find the best way to meet your objectives using the most effective communication channels.
I put a lot of hard work in at the planning stage. We’ll discuss the brief, I’ll ask loads and loads of questions and spend time delving into your existing collateral. I will make sure I incorporate your house style and brand guidelines.
Before I put fingers to keyboard, I’ll be clear about what we’re trying to achieve and how we’re going to achieve it. Whatever piece of work you need – from features to copywriting – I’ll hit the right tone and style for your readers or supporters.
Editing & Proofreading
I love injecting life into dull, boring copy or turning difficult concepts into easy, accessible language, so send it over. Or, if you need a final eye cast over your work, I’ll make sure there are no typos, spelling mistakes or grammatical errors.
If you need last-minute sickness or holiday cover, don’t panic contact me. I can come to your office and make sure you meet your deadlines. I am proficient in InDesign and experienced working with Content Management Systems.
Social media planning
Those 140 character tweets don’t write themselves! I can create your social media campaign – from tweets to Facebook posts to Instagram, Vine and Pinterest. Putting your content on the right social media platform is one of the most effective ways to increase your reach.
Plan, plan, plan… in the long-run it saves you time, money and stress. We can work together to make sure you hit your deadlines and that your project comes in within budget and no one’s pulling their hair out at the last minute.

Client: Healthlink Worldwide Project: Poverty and Health booklet Details: I was commissioned to write a booklet on the links between poverty, disability, disease and health. This involved interviewing people for case studies, researching, commissioning and writing articles, and liaising with partner organisations in the developing world.
Client: Take a Break Specials Project: Travel writing Details: I travelled to over 20 destinations for the magazine. I walked along Hadrian’s Wall, went on safari in Kent, zip-wired in Haiti, spent a week in a treehouse in France and cruised to the Caribbean
Client: H Bauer Project: Various Details: I’ve written many general-interest features on everything from tried and tested products to fitness and dieting. Here’s a feature I wrote on traditional playground games.
Client: Take a Break’s Win&Go Details: I wrote travel features for Take a Break’s specialist travel and competition magazine Win&Go. I visited many countries and cities including Bermuda, Glasgow and Italy’s Amalfi Coast. The highlight, however, was a trip to the beautiful city of Florence.
Client: Diabetes UK Project: Enjoy Food Details: Editor of the Enjoy Food website and printed magazine. Writing and commissioning food-related content, organising photo shoots, writing a monthly enewsletter and social media plan.
Client: H Bauer Project: Fiction Feast magazine Details: I was book reviews editor for Fiction Feast magazine for two years. This involved selecting books to review, commissioning book reviewers, writing book reviews, editing and sending the page to press.
