What I do
My job is to work with you to find the best way to meet your objectives using the most effective communication channels.
Here’s a taster of some of the projects I’m most proud of...
Client: Healthlink Worldwide Project: Poverty and Health booklet Details: I was commissioned to write a booklet on the links between poverty, disability, disease and health. This involved interviewing people for case studies, researching, commissioning and writing articles, and liaising with partner organisations in the developing world.
Client: Take a Break Specials Project: Travel writing Details: I travelled to over 20 destinations for the magazine. I walked along Hadrian’s Wall, went on safari in Kent, zip-wired in Haiti, spent a week in a treehouse in France and cruised to the Caribbean
Client: Diabetes UK Project: Enjoy Food Details: I was editor of the Enjoy Food section of the website. This involved writing and commissioning content, editing, proofing, uploading pages to the CMS, writing a monthly e-newsletter and social media plan.
Client: H Bauer Project: Various Details: I’ve written many general-interest features on everything from tried and tested products to fitness and dieting. Here’s a feature I wrote on traditional playground games.
Client: Take a Break’s Win&Go Details: I wrote travel features for Take a Break’s specialist travel and competition magazine Win&Go. I visited many countries and cities including Bermuda, Glasgow and Italy’s Amalfi Coast. The highlight, however, was a trip to the beautiful city of Florence.
Client: Diabetes UK Project: Enjoy Food Details: I was editor of the printed Enjoy Food Guide, a free magazine packed full of information for people with any type of diabetes on food, diet and managing this complex condition.
Client: H Bauer Project: Fiction Feast magazine Details: I was book reviews editor for Fiction Feast magazine for two years. This involved selecting books to review, commissioning book reviewers, writing book reviews, editing and sending the page to press.
I’m associated with the following organisations...

I think your edit is great – it makes the document read far better whilst retaining the required approach and tone. Olivia McDonald, Senior Policy Officer, Christian Aid
The project Anna and I worked together on at Diabetes UK was driven by high-quality, engaging content and Anna was entirely responsible for delivering this. From the word go she understood who we were talking to and made sure her writing style perfectly reflected our audience. As a result, the content was hugely successful, encouraging lots of people to visit our website, and importantly come back time and time again. As a person, she’s very easy to work with and always managed to deliver top work while juggling numerous stakeholders, deadlines and multiple projects. Catherine Clarke, Communications Project Manager, Enjoy Food, Diabetes UK
Anna is a skilled and experienced copy editor and writer, who can turn her hand to an impressive range of editorial tasks. She’s quick, accurate and creative, and her enthusiasm and professionalism make her a pleasure to work with. Margaret Nicholls, Editor-in-Chief, H Bauer Publishing
